Stephen Macaulay has an extensive practice in civil litigation, with an emphasis on insurance defence and alternative dispute resolution. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1988.

Stephen has represented a variety of insurers in both general liability claims and automobile cases, in the tort and accident benefits systems. His extensive experience includes motor vehicle liability claims, accident benefits, punitive damages, occupiers' liability and homeowner's claims. Stephen appears regularly at all levels of Court and FSCO, including Appeals, and has appeared numerous times in his capacity as counsel for various insurers at private mediations

In addition, Stephen leads seminars and discussion groups with insurer clients. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Toronto Lawyers' Association, the Defence Research Institute, and the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Ontario.
