Since being called to the Ontario Bar in 2000, Robert Bowman has practiced primarily in the area of insurance defence litigation. He has represented the interests of a variety of Ontario and international insurers, primarily within automobile cases, in tort claims and in the accident benefits system including trial and hearings.

He has appeared before the Divisional Court and FSCO, and has appeared numerous times in his capacity as counsel for various insurers at private mediations.
